A career-high for thievery and an all-around stat-stuffing weekend has earned Anna Kernagahn the MBLL Wesmen female athlete of the week.
Kernaghan, a fourth-year guard on the Wesmen women's basketball team, helped the Wesmen earn a doubleheader sweep of the MacEwan Griffins last weekend.Â
On Friday night, Kernaghan scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out four assists and had three steals in Winnipeg's 57-46 victory.Â
The following night she was even better. Kernaghan matched her season-high with 19 points, but more notably had a career-high seven steals along with seven rebounds and four assists.Â
The seven steals is second in Wesmen program history for steals in a game behind Kyanna Giles, Antoinette Miller and Megan Noonan, each of whom had nine.
