A high-efficiency weekend has earned Ryan Luke the MBLL Wesmen male athlete of the week honour. 

Luke, a third-year forward on the Wesmen men's basketball team, continues to be among the most efficient players from the field in U Sports and last weekend spurred the Wesmen to two road wins over the Mount Royal Cougars. 

For the weekend, Luke shot 16-for-22 from the field and averaged 17.5 points per game. 

In a decisive 83-58 win on Friday, Luke scored 13 points on 6-for-7 shooting while adding four rebounds. He outdid himself the next night, scoring a career-high 22 points on 10-for-15 shooting as the Wesmen pulled away for a 62-52 win. 

Through three games — all Wesmen wins — Luke is third in the country in field goal percentage at 69 per cent. 

The Wesmen host the MacEwan Griffins this weekend, Friday and Saturday, at the Duckworth Centre.
