Setting a career-high in a sweep has earned Breanne Bazin the MBLL Wesmen female athlete of the week award.
Bazin, a senior setter on the women's volleyball team, helped the Wesmen to a weekend sweep of the Brandon Bobcats that earned the Wesmen a first-round home series in the Canada West post-season.Â
On Friday, in a four-set win at Brandon, Bazin had 35 assists, 12 digs and two blocks, including a solo.
The following night, in another four-set victory, Bazin set a career-high with 21 digs while adding a season-high 46 assists and four block assists. It was the first time in her career Bazin hit the 20-dig mark.Â
The eighth-place Wesmen will close the conference season with a pair of home matches against the UBCO Heat Friday and Saturday.Â
