Even on a team full of stars, Brenda Westwood (nee Boroski) still found a way to stand out.

Westwood was one of the top talents on a Wesmen women's volleyball dynasty of the 1980s that won an at-the-time unprecedented six straight national titles.

Westwood was named national player of the year twice and national tournament MVP twice while winning five gold medals for the first dynasty of Canadian women's volleyball.

She was also a key part in the still unmatched record of 123 straight wins the Wesmen pulled off in the 1980s.

Westwood would also go on to play in the Canadian national program at the junior and senior levels.

In 2016, Westwood was inducted into the Manitoba High School Hall of Fame as an individual, and she has gone in to the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and Canada West Hall of Fame as part of those Wesmen teams.
