Ring of Honour
A co-author of The Streak was enshrined into Wesmen Athletics history with induction in 2018.
Tom Kendall, the head coach of the Wesmen women's basketball program from 1979 to 1995, went into the Wesmen Ring of Honour alongside his former player Sandra Carroll as the first members in 2018.
Kendall won 322 games overall as the head coach of the Wesmen, including a run of three straight national titles in 1993, 1994, and 1995. During that time, the Wesmen also ripped off a then record-tying 88 straight victories, which matched the UCLA Bruins men for longest in university/collegiate basketball.
Kendall amassed a .776 winning percentage across 16 seasons before stepping down in 1995. He is second all-time among Wesmen coaches for wins in a career, and second in career win percentage.Â
Kendall's name is also attached to a yearly award handed out at the Wesmen Athletics Awards Night, going to the student-athlete with the highest GPA across all sports.
Kendall is also a member of the Manitoba Sport Hall of Fame and the Canada West Hall of Fame.Â
