Ken Opalko still reigns as the greatest scorer in the history of Wesmen basketball, more than 40 years after he last suited up.

A five-time all-GPAC selection, Opalko was the Great Plains player of the year in 1978-79 and was named a first-team all-Canadian that same season when he averaged more than 23 points per game and helped the Wesmen to a GPAC title.

A member of the Manitoba Sport Hall of Fame and Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame, Opalko went on to play interna- tionally for Canada following his storied Wesmen career.
