Tom Nicholson is, quite simply, a UWinnipeg lifer.

A graduate of the university, Nicholson has spent his entire career working for the betterment of Wesmen Athletics and Wesmen student-athletes in a variety of roles inside the athletics department. 

An employee of more than 30 years at Wesmen Athletics, Nicholson's work is often behind the scenes in a do-it-all capacity to help the department run smoothly. Now the associate athletic director, Nicholson has established himself as the reliable presence to handle questions and duties without hesitation. His role as associate AD already encompasses important duties including scheduling, sponsorships, fundraising and many other administrative tasks. But you're just as likely to see Nicholson helping with set-up or tear down on a Wesmen Gameday or welcoming student-athletes into his office for a chat with an always open-door policy. 

Nicholson was presented with a surprise induction into the Wesmen Ring of Honour at the 2019 athletics banquet as the department honoured three decades of selfless service to the department, teams, coaches and student-athletes of UWinnipeg.
